Parents - What to do now Print E-mail

As a parent it is your responsibility to keep your child safe. Act on any concerns you have about their relationships with their coach or other adults.

  • If your child is under the age of consent and you suspect they are engaged in a sexual relationship with an adult, it is a matter for the police to investigate.
  • If your child is over the age of consent but under 18 years of age, inform your sporting organisation – they should investigate the matter and take action against the coach if he/she is engaged in a sexual relationship with a minor.
  • Contact your sports Member Protection Information Officer for support and/or information on this issue.
