  • Develop a policy addressing intimate relationships between coaches and athletes, if one does not exist. Two possible policy statements addressing intimate relationships are available in the Australian Sports Commission’s Member Protection Policy Template (see Part A; Clause 7.3 of the template).
  • Address the issue in the sport’s Code of Behaviour.
  • Educate coaches,other personnel and players on the club or sport’s policy regarding intimate relationships between coaches and athletes.
  • Reinforce  the policy with coaches, other personnel and players before over night or away trips or in any other high risk situation.
  • Take action on any inappropriate relationship and keep a record of your clubs actions.
