- Be a good role model and understand that the language you use will have a significant impact on what players regard as acceptable behaviour.
- Promote and support your club’s Member Protection Policy and Codes of Behaviour.
- Make it clear to your team that verbal abuse has no place on or off the field.
- Treat your players/athletes with dignity and respect.
- Remember that there is more to sport than winning, particularly if you’re coaching a junior team.
- Undertake training to improve your knowledge and skills in coaching.
